Project Summary
Fairview Machine is a third-generation precision manufacturing company providing advanced machining, engineering, assembly, and quality-control services for aerospace, medical, defense, and commercial clients. Founded in 1962, the company combines decades of manufacturing experience with sophisticated CNC equipment, automation, and modern engineering technology.
My Role
I established the site's visual direction by designing the homepage and developing its typography, color palette, imagery treatment, and overall layout system. Once that foundation was approved, I provided art direction and oversight as another member of my team extended the design across the site's interior pages, reviewing the work and ensuring that the visual language remained consistent throughout.
Design & Development Highlights
The primary design challenge was communicating two sides of Fairview's identity: a multigenerational American manufacturing company with more than sixty years of history, and a highly technical operation built around modern precision equipment and engineering. The homepage was designed to balance those qualities, combining bold industrial typography and large-scale photography with a restrained visual system that feels contemporary without losing the character of an established manufacturing business.

Rather than individually designing every interior page, I established the core layouts and visual rules and then oversaw their implementation by another designer. This required creating a system clear and flexible enough to be applied consistently across capability pages, market-specific content, company history, facility information, and calls to action while still allowing individual pages to respond to their particular content.
The finished site reflects Fairview's central positioning: traditional manufacturing experience paired with advanced technology and precision. Its visual identity provides a consistent framework for a technically complex website while giving the company a distinctive and contemporary digital presence.
