Project Summary

The Normand Campeau Jr. Scholarship Fund was established to help graduating high school seniors in Manchester, New Hampshire pursue vocational and technical education. The organization needed a professional web presence that could introduce the scholarship program, explain eligibility and application requirements clearly, and provide students with a straightforward path to apply.

My Role

I developed the site's visual identity and overall creative direction, then designed and built the complete website in WordPress using Elementor. My work encompassed the logotype, color and typography systems, photography selection, page structure, and the presentation of the scholarship and application information.

Design & Development Highlights

With a limited budget allocated to logo development, the project called for an identity that was simple, credible, and appropriate for a scholarship organization without requiring an elaborate branding process. I created a straightforward logotype that established a professional foundation for the site and provided a starting point for the broader visual system.

From there, the client entrusted me with the overall visual direction. I developed the color palette and typography, selected stock photography centered on vocational education and skilled trades, and established a page layout that feels welcoming and contemporary while maintaining the credibility appropriate to an educational fund. The imagery also helped give an otherwise abstract scholarship program a more immediate human connection to the students and careers it is intended to support.

Clear communication was particularly important. Eligibility qualifications, required documentation, deadlines, and application instructions needed to be easy for prospective applicants to understand without making an already detailed process feel intimidating. I organized this information into distinct sections with a clear visual hierarchy and designed the application experience to support the practical needs of students submitting both information and supporting documents.

The project came together with an unusual degree of creative freedom and relatively little revision, allowing the visual language to develop consistently across the site from the outset. It was especially rewarding to apply that work to a program created to expand educational opportunities for young people entering skilled trades.
