Video Editing & Creative Direction

The source footage provided an authentic look at Cam's equipment and day-to-day operation, but much of the action unfolded too slowly to function effectively as web video. Rather than simply shortening the clips, I used variable-speed editing to preserve key moments at their natural pace while accelerating less important portions of the action.

A sequence showing the company's fleet leaving the lot begins at normal speed, accelerates through the middle of the departure, and returns to real-time motion where the action benefits from greater visual weight. Another sequence showing a dumpster being positioned was divided and tightly retimed, transforming a necessarily slow mechanical process into a concise visual demonstration of the service. Additional post-production included motion tracking and obscuring a visible license plate.

I used directional pans and swipe transitions to connect the footage and maintain the video's momentum. While these transitions can easily become excessive in other contexts, their physical movement complemented the trucks, machinery, and industrial character of this particular project. An existing logo animation asset was incorporated into the edit and timed with the surrounding footage to provide a polished branded transition.

Finally, the complete sequence was constructed as a seamless loop. Because the video was intended as an ongoing website visual rather than a conventional promotional film with a defined beginning and end, the transitions, pacing, and logo treatment were designed so repeated playback would feel continuous rather than abruptly restarting.

For the website itself, I served primarily in a creative-direction and project-management role, reviewing the work as it developed, providing guidance on visual and usability decisions, and stepping in for hands-on refinements where needed.
